Why do feminists encourage women to drive without their shoes on as in the film Thelma & Louise…?

Why do feminists encourage dangerous practices like this? Why do they wish for there to be even more hazards on our streets and freeways? Why do children need to get injured or die just so that feminists can engage in such reckless behavior?

You don’t tell me what I can or can’t wear on my feet when I drive. That’s oppression. You should blame the male-dominated car industry for not designing cars to meet the needs of women’s exotic footwear. We worked long and hard to get to this point and I can’t bear to hear criticism. You are so worried about children’s safety but you so easily forget that single mothers are the ones primarily responsible for the safety of CHILDREN. That’s right, it’s women who have the babies, not men. I hate you.

    LMAO. Even if this were true, you actually have a better grip/feel for the pedal without shoes on than if you, say, had high heels on for instance. If anything, the latter is the hazard.

    Driving without shoes is much safer than trying to drive in high heels. It is next to impossible to drive while wearing them. The heels get in the way and it makes it very difficult to position the feet correctly on the pedals.

    I drive barefoot all the time. It’s far less dangerous than driving in heels.

    I think this is a new one for me, seeing feminists getting blamed for promoting women to drive with no shoes on.

    Driving barefoot is not illegal here, shoes are only "recommended." I thought that was interesting when I was studying to get my license. Insert your shoeless redneck jokes here.
