Geena Davis’ character, Thelma, met his character, J.D., when she and Thelma were on their road trip. She did him in the hotel room – his character bragged to her about how he robbed banks, and bragged about what a gentleman he was when he did it.
Thelma went to meet Louise for breakfast, glowing about the wonderful night she had. Louise asked her where the money was, and Thelma, good ol’ naive Thelma, replied it was in the room – with J.D., of course LOL! It never occurred to her that this guy would steal from them, which of course he did – taking all the money in the bag. For her, someone who would have the night they had together could not be capable of stealing from her. And of course, she was wrong.
As I recall, they took what J.D. had told them and robbed banks using the same M.O.
