In today’s economic environment, businesses need to be looking at every which way possible to cut costs. One of the first ways they do this is by looking how much they pay for rent. Are they overpaying? Can they re-negotiate the length of their leases? Well they probably can, not that landlords like this, but in reality they have no choice, they are lucky to have any tenants at all. Finally after having the short straw and no power, it is tenants that have the upper hand in negotiations of commercial real estate. They should really make the most of it now, as it won’t last forever.
