Is it wrong for me to keep my kids safe from predators?
23.September, 2009
3 hours ago I posted a question pertaining to the site myspaceforteens which I made for my 3 teens so I can keep a eye on them while chatting with there friends, my question to the community was is there anything else I may do to make it even safer(I put password protected password chatroom on the site for that reason) I got 7 good answers (all positive except one) who promptly states "I DONT CARE IF YOUR KIDS ARE SAFER. I HAVE ALREADY REPORT YOU TO MYSPACE AND WHEN THEY FIND OUT THERE GOES YOUR KIDS SAFETY AND YOUR 5 MONTHS OF WORK ." Well I do not have ONE MONEY GENERATING AD on that site and do not make ONE PENNY off that site I have spent $3K so I can keep a eye on my kids (my teens friend recently meet up with a stalker because of this issue) and is what promted me to do this. How can someone have the nerve to not only be critical of a father protecting his kids but also have the nerve to shut down my hard work and my kids own site? My kids are devasted there site might be gone.
Ok Clancy down below is the gentlemen (yeah right) who is the one this question is about, and the site is not for sale on ebay anybody can check my ebay as he kindly put a link of my ebay account,(real nice( and see I make custom website, this site myspaceforteens IS NOT FOR SALE CUSTOM MYSPACE TYPE SITES ARE!!!!This guy has nothing else to do but bother people and send me nasty emails saying I am making money, there is no google ads on the site whatsoever.
It sounds like the guy was just being a jerk. And there are plenty of them here on Y!A. I, for one, applaud you for being concerned about your children. Not enough parents seem to think about all they can do to keep thier kids safe while letting them enjoy themselves.
You can check with myspaceforteens, but it doesn’t sound like you did anything against thier rules. Don’t let this guy get to you.

Czars? Confirmation hearings? Did I miss something?
21.September, 2009
Washington D.C., Jul 15, 2009 / 06:08 am (CNA).- The office of President Obama’s “science czar” John Holdren has responded to concerns Holdren co-authored a book which allegedly contained comments supporting coercive population control measures. A spokesman for the department said that Holdren disavowed such policies at his confirmation hearing.
Holdren is currently Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
In 1977, he co-authored the 1,000 page book “Ecoscience” with Paul and Anne Ehrlich. The book included several descriptions of possible population control measures, including the addition of “sterilants” to the water supply to prevent human conception.
One section, titled “Population Law,” cited the radical group Zero Population Growth and said “it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.”
“Few today consider the situation in the United States serious enough to justify compulsion, however.”
Another section discussed a “planetary regime” that might be given responsibility for “determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries’ shares within their regional limits.”
In Tuesday e-mails to CNA, Rick Weiss, the Office of Science and Technology Policy’s Director of Strategic Communications, said the material at issue was from “a three-decade-old, three-author textbook used in colleges to teach energy policy.”
He could “easily dismiss” fears that Dr. Holdren favors government control over population growth.
“He made that quite clear in his confirmation hearing,” Weiss said.
He then quoted a section of the confirmation transcript in which Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) asked Holdren whether he thinks “determining optimal population is a proper role of government.”
“No, Senator, I do not,” was Holdren’s reply, according to Weiss and a transcript of the proceedings.
In other remarks at the confirmation hearing, not cited by Weiss, Holdren told Sen. Vitter he no longer thinks it is “productive” to focus on the “optimum population” for the United States. “I don’t think any of us know what the right answer is.”
According to Weiss, Holdren “made clear that he did not believe in coercive means of population control” and is not an advocate for measures expressed in the book “and they are certainly not endorsed by this administration in any way.”
Weiss also provided CNA with a statement from the book’s other two authors, Paul and Anne Ehrlich.
The Ehrlichs said they had been “shocked” at what they called the “serious misrepresentation” of their and Holdren’s views.
“We were not then, never have been, and are not now ‘advocates’ of the Draconian measures for population limitation described — but not recommended — in the book’s 60-plus small-type pages cataloging the full spectrum of population policies that, at the time, had either been tried in some country or analyzed by some commentator.”
Describing “Ecoscience” as a “textbook,” they said its descriptions can be “misrepresented as endorsement.”
Paul Ehrlich was the author of the 1968 bestselling book The Population Bomb, which predicted that massive famines in the 1970s would kill “hundreds of millions,” including Americans.
Coercive population control measures, including forced sterilizations and abortions, have been used in China’s one-child policy. In Peru in the 1990s, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the United Nations Population Fund provided support for what became an involuntary sterilization program which victimized an estimated 300,000 women.
President Bush never had a buncha America-hating communist fruits hanging out in The White House either.

had to file bankruptcy do to separation and bad housing market-I know if you come into some money a short time
21.September, 2009
after a discharge you are required to report it and even pay stuff back. My question is if you could safely but money into cd’s with kids name on it so that you wouldn’t have to claim it? I don’t want to be dishonest but any savings I may accumulate over these next months I want to safe guard from this mess happening again…Anybody know anything about this? Thank you
If you come into the money, then it would be assumed that it is to come in your name. If you transfer it to your children’s (or anyone) name, than you are still responsible for it because it was in your name to begin with. Just because you move it, give it away, or transfer it, does not mean that you never got it.
If possible, wait until after the time frame to get the money. This does not mean that you wait to cash the check! It means have whoever is giving you the money wait to give it to you.
is there any pictures of henry and thelma doelger’s home on northgate ave. in daly city?

To the people against "socialism", how would you feel safe about anarchism?
17.September, 2009
i use the term "socialism" lose in correspondence with what the majority assumes socialism to be. according to their definition, socialism is when the government provides goods or services pubically rather than private firms. in this respect, then police force would be privitized so only those who have the money would report a crime and most people would get off with murder, etc, national security would be a non-issue as nation is a collective, education would be privitized so only the children who grew up in rich families could afford education and thus be able to read and write. thus crime rates would soar, people would fear from their lives, the majority of people would be ignorant as they are unable to go to school, and basically it would be a complete mess. this is the opposite of socialism. i would rather have socialism then pure unregulated capitalism, which implies anarchy.
There’s some problems with your definition of state socialism. Nothing would be privatized, including the police force and education. You said it yourself "…the government provides goods or services publicly rather than private firms."
I’m opposed to state socialism, and I agree that the outcome would be horrible. I’m just correcting your definition. It’s not that a state calling itself "socialist" couldn’t privatize certain services, they certainly could, and probably would, but they would no longer be consistently socialist.
Pure, unregulated capitalism is not anarchism. The only people who claim so are the so-called "anarcho-capitalists." All other anarchists reject capitalism on the grounds that it creates unnecessary and unjustified disparities in wealth and requires hierarchical relationships in the workplace. Since anarchists are reject oppression and unjustified authority, they also reject capitalism. Most anarchists are non-statist socialists who support some kind of participation in workers’ councils by free association.
What do you think of the film ‘Thelma and Louise’?
