I looked in amazon.com, but it’s not available there. I did a google search, and I found the book was published by a self-publishing outfit called Bethany Press.

Any suggestions?

Because Bethany Press is a self publisher there is a very good chance that you would be able to ask them to print you a single copy of the book. Many self publishers do Print On Demand, which means that they don’t print the book until somebody orders it. I don’t know if Bethany Press does P.O.D. or not, but I would imagine that they would welcome your business. It’s worth a try. Here’s their contact page: http://www.bethanypress.com/Contact/

Okay my question is little complicated. Do a business owner have to report their income if one of their customer pay their service in CASH? How is IRS going to find out? For example, a hotel owner recieve cash, a restaurant owner recieve cash, a bicycle rental owner recieve cash……etc. and they put their cash in their own PERSONAL safe. I can’t think of a way where the irs can find out…….
ooh yea but the business has to make money some way they just report their sales on CREDIT card sales, personal checks and SOME of the cash not all……
Currently, I LOVE the three answers so far…very thought provoking. One of the answer talks about transfer to the bank. Please remember the business owner place it in his PERSONAL safe. For the other answer with Mercedes…true true. However, he/she can spent on not obvious thing such as food, clothes (in trust in me he can spent alot without anything too obvious), eating out, etc. IN HARD COLD CASH….so there is no way IRS can catch it. The gentleman with the long answer……I 100% agree and auditor is the best way…….thanks your answer is the best so far……

Yes, all income must be reported.

The IRS has many ways of sniffing out tax cheats. Some of them are pretty creative. A number of years ago a group of IRS agents used to get together for lunch at a popular hotel’s restaurant. They noted that many of the wait staff seemed to be getting some pretty generous tips from their customers and wondered if that income was being reported. Back at the office they started pulling tax returns and discovered that few of them claimed any tips at all and those that did didn’t claim very much. They launched an investigation that lead to a number of prosecutions for tax evasion and the collection of hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes, penalties and interest from the employees and the hotel. (The Head Sommelier and Maître d’ were estimated to be pulling in over $100k each per year in tips alone!)

For your hotel, consider this scenario: IRS agent checks in and spends a couple of nights and pays cash. Maybe does this 2 or 3 times throughout the year. When the tax return is filed, it gets pulled for audit. Agent asks for cash receipts journal and zeroes in on the dates in question and sees $0. BUSTED!

It’s unrealistic for most businesses to operate solely on a credit or debit card basis. Most businesses take in some cash in the course of doing business with rare exceptions. The IRS knows the statistical norms for different types of businesses based upon past audit findings. If your business shows receipts outside of the norms, you may be asked to prove your figures with detailed business records.

They might not catch the occasional ten-spot that gets pocketed without being rung up but any significant pattern of unreported cash transactions will be caught by a seasoned examiner. If money is coming IN, then just as surely is going OUT as well. If those don’t match up pretty closely, BUSTED!

He was so hot in the movie! He was a hitchhiker, slept with Thelma or Louise-can’t remember and stole all their money–if I remember right! His character was named J.D.

It was just announced that he was returning. Is this a good move or a bad move? Why do you think it is good or bad?

It would cost them a fortune to buy him out, I have heard as much as 20 million to buy him out.

They are better off to ride out the storm, he’ll get the horses he needs eventually and will be a hero when he brings home a National title in 2012. Remember you heard it here first !

A few good months ago now, about June time me and my partner were looking for a puppy after losing ours and were looking on the online sites as we got one of our cats from a nice couple who lived nearby who were advertising online and that went well, well we came across a person claiming to be a breeder and that she was only selling her puppies for £100 each which automatically struck me as odd as the breed cost a lot more, on the site she had advertised in my area but when talking to her on an instant messenger she lived in Scotland, and i’d have to pay her for the dog to be flown here, as i’m not stupid and wasn’t willing to risk the money i had to buy myself a dog i was really weary and started asking for proof, all she did was send a supposedly health check certificate for the dog. which I wasn’t falling for. oh and her breeding license was too big to scan.. yeah.. right. i asked for ways she could make this feel safer for me, like if she could get the dog delivered to my door and i’d pay cash in hand, she said no. she was persistent saying my money worries were a problem that it was standing in my way of me having a dog i need, I was getting angry saying the only money worries I have are losing the money i have for getting a dog. This person did not want to give up and asked me to send my details so she could get the dog shipped and i pay. i said i’d do so and then just never replied. i kept her on my list out of curiousity, worrying who really will get fooled by this person, a month or so later she sent me a message clearly either forgetting me or being dumb asking if i still want the puppies, i asked the age and the were the same age as they were the month earlier? smart puppies huh?
Anyone know where i can report this person? I know it probably wont help much, but anywhere I can just give this e-mail address so I feel i’ve done my part.
Thanks.

Most losses in a season

Most losses in a row to start a season

What others?

Most overrated fat coach….he also needs to stop scheduling the dominate military schools since it is obvious that ND can not compete with them. It looks as if the worse thing that happened to ND was Brady Quinn, since he made the coach look good when he really isn’t. I also believe that the arrogance of him with the "rings" gets in his way to think objectively. ND can sit there and speak of integrity and higher standards but the bottom line is they have rules set up for them that are not equivalent to the rest of the field. Records broke…most loses in a season, worst start and finish to a season, most overrated program in the last 25 years, but he did "ALMOST" beat USC so I guess that make the ND Golden Domers happy and that is all that matter to them…Just ask them!!
